[P1] When to replace iBook?

But a $500 difference?  That's somewhat surprising, I suppose, though I'm trying my best to believe you for selfish purposes.  ;^)

That said, it might be worth remembering which 'book is longer in the tooth.  I'm doing my dangest to way until the second iteration of 12" G5 Powerbooks is released before leaving the iBook behind (Hopefully the G5 won't be a 17" first trickle-down).

It's always best to purchase at the introduction of a new model, no matter what you're buying -- the now-inexpensive old model or the new one.  Always seems to add just enough extra life to the box by buying on release to make me feel better about having purchased it.  And with the two books you're comparing, the relatively new G4 iBook would have me a little less antsy -- it's mid-cycle while the Powerbook is "approaching the end of a cycle" according to http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/
