[P1] Need help from anyone who uses Apple's Mail App in OSX

Open the mail box, click on the message and then on the Send button. 
Sometimes we try to send an email when our connection is closed and it 
ends up in the outbox as you describe.

If that doesn't work, try the other suggestions I just read...
