Requesting advice choosing a printer, etc

Oh joy.  I got home late tonight and found all these responses!

This discussion is exactly what i had hoped for.  The realities of use.
Which models people have bought and how good they have been.   Differing
opinions.  Differing thoughts.  Strategies of use.    Looking at things that
I hadn't thought of..  Exactly what I need, to think this all thru.   I so
appreciate your helpful thinking.
