Using second generation Airport as well (Snow ABS) with a 700 iBook and
10.3.3 and have stuck with 3.1.2 Airport software as AFAIK the newer updates
are specifically for use/issues with Extreme cards or stations.

Never had any issues with this set-up so have stuck with it. I don't tend to
wander too far from the ABS though so YMMV.
