Most "newer" cameras work fine with iPhoto. I have come across a few that it could not see for some reason. The key to the camera is it mounts as a external storage device. Some cheaper cameras some how make their non removable media proprietary and iPhoto might not see them with out the drivers. When you pick out your camera, get one that comes with removable media, which about 95% of the newer cameras have. Then if the camera does not plug in directly, you can get a memory card reader that will read it for you.... plus removable memory cards are SOOO much easier to upgrade your "16 meg" camera to "512 Megs" after visiting that memory sale!!
