Well there has been rumors of a new dual core G4 processor coming out soon that will allow for the power of two G4s to be condensed into one small chip. According to sources close to Apple, it will be quite a while before Apple releases a G5 PowerBook. They still haven't made the processor small or cool enough. Best bet is the dual core G4. -Chris- Message: 5 Date: Fri, 24 Sep 2004 13:37:25 -0600 From: David Crump <davecrump at mac.com> Subject: [iBook] Powerbook upgrades on the horizon? I just checked the London Drugs website (in Canada), and every powerbook model is listed as out of stock. Could this be a sign? Has anyone heard if a speed bump is coming up? I know, I know, "if you always wait for a new model, you'll never get a new computer." I just have a hunch on this one. It won't hurt me to wait a month or two. Dave.
