[iBook] external itunes music library

Hi Angus,

Ok, a month later, but who knows, you might still be looking for clues! :-)

It seems I have the same setup as you. Music on my internal HD and
music on an external HD (plus an iPod). I fail to see why you manage
multiple libraries. I simply have only one iTunes library, on the
internal HD, that refers to all my music. (Of course, this means,
unless you want all the music on the external HD and none on the
internal one, you cannot let iTunes manage your music files in the
preference panel.) This is very convenient to me. I never have to
switch libraries. If my external HD is not plugged in, iTunes will
simply not find the file. When I'll plug back my external HD, iTunes
will find all my music at once. Works perfectly.

However, I know many have (& had) problems with managing libraries,
multiple or not. There is a software (5$) that can help you manage
multiple libraries (I don't know the name) but never had to use it
since the way explained above works well for me.

Good luck,

Alex
