[iBook] Mirroring to a Firewire drive?

Has anyone tried mirroring their IBook or Powerbook to a desktop 
Firewire drive.

I'd like to use the iBook as my main computer (with regular monitor and 
keyboard, of course) but I'm kind of nervous about having all my data 
on the road with me without an idiot-resistant duplicate at the office.

What say the collective wisdom?
