According to this website, driver-less functions require OS 10.2 or
higher: http://www.canon.com.au/products/cameras/digital_compact_cameras/powershota610.html

Apologies if this sounds obvious, but what about a card reader? 2
years ago I got one at MicroCenter for $9. It read Compact Flash, SD,
and about 6 other formats. All it takes up, is one USB port.
