I would say go with an internal Apple Airport card.  They are super easy to
install and you know that they will be 100% compatible with the OS.

I need some advice about wireless.  My sister-in-law has an iBook 500MHz
duel
USB, WITHOUT an airport card.  She wants to setup a wireless network in her
house an use her iBook wirelessly (is that a real word?).has anyone had luck
using external wireless adapters on their macs? Any advice would be helpful.
 
I have looked at the compatibility list and found that the adapters that
might
work are no longer being sold.
