[iBook] Never beyond 98% charging

I know this subject came up on this list a long time ago..... 
 
My iBook G3/500 has a replacement battery from Apple that is only a year old
 and it holds a charge very well (several hours). 
 
However, no matter how long the laptop is plugged in, the charging indicator
never goes above 98%. The battery seems to actually be fully charged, it is
just off on its calibration perhaps?? 
 
Does anyone know the fix for this?
