[iTunes] need iTouch help

Hi, My friend just came with her iTouch and we can't get any sound out  
of it. I thought it was the earbuds but I tried my buds in it and  
still no sound. The sound is turned all the way up and the counter is  
moving so it's playing.
Any suggestions on how to proceed to get this fixed?
