Internal or External HD for Video Editing? (was: Upgrade)

I apologize if this has been asked before but does it make a big difference
if you upgrade your internal drive to have enough space for capturing,
editing, and storing video (on a separate partition of course) or is it
better to add an external drive to your Cube solely for this purpose? Any
advantages to one over the other?
