i wholeheartedly agree.

not that i expect a phone to replace the palm (other than the combo 
palm os based phones).

iCal and address book are not near ready to replace the palm desktop 
even.  they are more elegant apps, but far more simplistic.  they are 
still very cool and show promise, however, and may get there someday.
