[Cube] DVD won't eject from firmware

Just replaced by old HD with a new one and stupidly left a CD in the CD-DVD
ROM drive, so now I can't install OS X on the new HD.

So I went into open firmware and typed "eject CD" and got the message "can't
OPEN the EJECT device."

There was nothing wrong with the optical drive before I installed the new
HD, and the process is simple enough.

Am I using the wrong command? Did I damage the optical drive? What am I
doing wrong here? 

Please help!
