Swapping a DVD drive between Mac and PC

I have been using a La Cie external firewire DVD/CD rw
drive with my Mac.  It was the "Mac version".

I also have a PC laptop (sorry! it has to do with
certain applications I use that are not available on
the Mac).

Does anyone know what I need to do so that I can use
my DVD drive with my PC?  In principle it should be
possible, since my PC has firewire.
