Missing Firewire

On both my machines, TiBook and G4 Tower, using FPC 3, my Canon GL2 can
not be recognized. The message on starting FCP is:

Unable to locate external video device:

	Apple FireWire NTSC (720 x 480)

In Log and Capture mode, same deal -- I get, "Unable to initialize
video deck." It's like my camera isn't connected or turned on, but it
really is.

Under Audio and Video settings, under the summary tab, the External
Video setting shows "[Missing] Apple Firewire NTSC..."

My Canon Elura works fine on these machines, but this GL2 seems to have
some sort of internal problem. Oh, and it's not the cable, I've tried
three different ones.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Is there some setting I have
wrong on my camera? I hope that's it -- I really don't want to send it
in for service.

Thanks,

Romondo
