I think that it tells me that the problem is probably not my 
machine/hardware.

It crashed three times. Twice during stage 3, and the third time it 
crashed at the transition from stage 3 to stage 4.

What 32 gigs of questionable data? I never mentioned 32 gigs of 
anything. I loaded my archived iDVD project onto the machine (13Gb).
