Affordable Logic Switching?

I'll probably still get the DP for X upgrade regardless, but I'd been 
looking to add Logic to my arsenal. What's the most economic way people 
have found to purchase? The academic price I think is still US$500.

How about Cubase SX -- anyone gotten any deals buying that?

I like to use legal software!!

(Speaking of which, one distinct advantage of DP when it does finally 
come out is the LACK of a dongle!!)
