Hi Jerry:

I took my TiPBG4-800 to Germany during December 2002 and had no
problems accessing the Internet and all my varied POP email accounts
using Earthlink's dialup service. Nice high speed V.90 connections
(average connect speed >40Kbps.)

Peter was right -- the physical connection is likely the biggest area
of difficulty. I suggest you take a standard US-type telephone cable
and a female-female RJ11 connector. Most of the homes I was at had
telephones with short cables with whatever German PTT connector on one
end and a RJ11 male on the phone end. In those cases I just put my
RJ11 female connector on their cable and hooked my telephone cord into
it and then into my PowerBook.

Regards,

Jim
