Decision time, Applecare YES - NO?

Hi Everyone,

I need your help please. I am pretty sure of my decision given the
experiences of many of you on the Ti list, but wanted to receive but one
more kick in the tail over this final step.

My year of warranty coverage is about to expire (about a month or so) on my
Ti550/combo. This machine has performed exceptionally well for me and has
paid for itself at least 3 or 4 times over now.

I will be purchasing a new machine this year, however I am not the kind of
UberUser that is fortunate enough to be able to update their gear as often
as they want (every 2 years seems to be the cycle for me). When I make my
investment it is calculated and when a piece of gear performs pretty much
"off the charts" for me I like to hold onto it. Call me crazy, old
fashioned, whatever.

SO, the big question - AppleCare in Canada will cost me about $615. That's
$300/yr for 2 years of technical protection for a machine that has caused me
maybe one or two headaches along the way, but is more importantly still very
useful.

Respond privately if you wish, I understand this may be a beaten dead horse
for many of you.

Thank you.
