erasing a SINGLE file

I have OS 9 on a partition. Occasionally that partition refuses to 
mount. I have to go startup, hold down the option key, and startup from 
the OS 9 partition. Then I have to run Norton Disk Doctor, and it 
always finds an error in the same file Node 1189, record 2 and record 
6. There are also some files in the trash which I can't delete even 
with holding down option. They are of the "lost and found" variety.

Is there a tool that will let me FORCE delete these files and one that 
will help me identify what node 1189 record 2 exactly is?
