Sorry - didn't think the obvious had to be stated. My iPod goes where every
I go. While it has never happened, if my notebook met with a disaster I
could boot with the iPod and work until it became convenient to restore the
drive. What has happened on a number of occasions, when one of the iMacs in
my labs develops a problem that I cannot quickly diagnose I know that it
less than 15 minutes I can have the OS and applications reinstalled and the
computer configured and ready to use. Of course the same could be
accomplished with any firewire drive but electrical outlets are in short
supply in my labs so the iPod makes it just a bit more convenient.
