[Ti] Tibook running very hot after Tiger install

Since installing 10.4.4 on my 800mhz tibook with 1gig SDRAM runs very  
hot and the fan runs constantly.  Activity monitor shows VShieldCheck  
pegging the CPU steadily above 85%.  This happens with nothing else  
running.

Energy saver settings do not help, and the hard drive never spins  
down.  What gives?

Has anyone on the list experienced this?  Any suggestions for cooling  
this puppy off?
