You can move applications to other locations, but why would you do it, since the space gained would be minimal. Instead, place your space-gobbling items -- such as the iTunes music library -- on the larger partition. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Advanced and choose a different iTunes music folder location. (After that, you'll have to move manually the contents of your present music folder to the newly defined one.) You can also instruct your web browsers and other apps (e.g., Photoshop) to keep their caches and scratch files on the larger partition. Finally, running OS X off a 6GB partition is tight. Unless you've a special reason for it, you shouldn't run X off a partition smaller than 10GB or (better) 15GB. f
