[X-Newbies] Playing DVDs with a Power Book

My husband has a G4 Titanium Power Book.  He is running Panther.  He is
having a problem watching DVDs.  He is able to watch some and the computer
just spits out others.  This happens with DVDs that he has watched just a
week previously on the same computer.  We are able to watch the same DVD on
our desktop computers.  If this makes any difference, these are DVDs were
purchased from Barnes and Noble and Best Buy and are titles like Lord of the
Rings.

Has anyone else had this problem, and, more importantly, does anyone have
any idea how to correct it?

We would appreciate any suggestions,
