[X Newbies] Panther / firmware update issues on iMac DV

Can't you install 9, restart your computer in 9 (system preferences: 
start up disk: click on 9), upgrade to 9.2 through software update, 
restart in 9, then go to Cointrol Panels: Start up disk, click on 10.3, 
then restart?
