You solved my problem

The third disc has an Epson 2 Installation package.

After installation, the Printer setup Utility now lists  the 740 when 
selecting  Epson USB .
The Utilities icon is now active in its Finder bar, and all the 740 
printer  utilities are fully operational

All is well
