> From: John Park <jp at johnparkcomedy.com> > > What does it mean to synchronize? Just what it says -- ensure that Folder A has exactly the same contents as Folder B. The term for "synchronising" an entire drive is called "cloning," because there are a number of "pointers" such as symlinks and aliases that get modified in the process to point to the right place, and there are plenty of "temp" files that don't get copied at all (of course). > And does carbon copy do an > incremental back up as in just the stuff that changes? Or does it copy > the whole drive again no matter what.? After it's initial full copy, it can be set to copy only those files that have been changed/modified, which dramatically cuts down on the time needed to backup.
