Because even the vast majority of us who "sit here using something else"
have nevertheless picked up the same mentality of those who follow the main
road (take the threads about "computer virusses" for instance, just to pick
another of the most common myths).
I meant "monopoly of the computer users' brains". I apologise if this
wasn't clear, and would like to reiterate it.

Just by looking at the reactions to what I wrote, nobody (bar me and
*maybe* Charles Martin) believes that any OS can be any better than the
lowest denominator.

You don't call this monopoly? I'm not good at semantics, so if you would
like to propose an alternative definition, I'm happy to listen :-)
