Did you download & install the Micro$oft driver?
If so open System Preferences and change the keyboard layout from the M$
Keyboard panel.

FYI my friend used the M$ internet keyboard and had problems with the latest
driver (it didn't do anything). He had to revert to an older version he had
downloaded when he first got the keyboard.
