The person in the store was "generally" correct. Typically and until 
fairly recently, the DVD burners *from Apple* were DVD-R but not 
DVD+R compatible. So the person was probably quite accustomed to 
giving that advice since it was right, generally speaking. Even in 
those instances (IOW recently) where DVD+R is usable, DVD-R is also. 
So the person would still have been generally correct to steer a Mac 
user toward DVD-R media.

Your burner is a Pioneer DVR-106D and supports use of both + and - 
media

But did it come from Apple standard or as a BTO option with your 
system?
