Have you taken the time to note the difference in size between HTML posts and plain text posts? The fact is that HTML posts are sometimes 3 - 10 times larger than the same plain text post. This is just not acceptable when the listees are potentially bandwidth limited (to say nothing of my server's bandwidth.) > nor is posting over 5 KB. When you later mention that it is only 165 bytes over limit, it would seem that there might be no line which is meant to be held. List software has settings for maximum size. We don't set a maximum size and then the server is allowed to arbitrarily allow messages that are just a little bit over that limit go through. Things don't work like that. If the earler message was trimmed properly, there would have been no problem. > Holding a posting to a thread, using size as the only criteria does not in my >opinion constitute a reasonable action: And that is not the only criteria. The number of lines that are quoted is also another criteria as well as HTML, etc. How about you donating your server and bandwidth to a thousand other users and then you can take the abuse of what everyone else thinks you should be doing in your donation? -- <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Robert Ameeti An intellectual snob is someone who can listen to the William Tell Overture and not think of The Lone Ranger. -- Dan Rather <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
