This is certainly a possibility, in the old OPENSTEP days, there were 
some apps that were Quad-Fat binaries.  The same binary would run on 
68k, x86, Sparc, and PA-RISC.

ISTR hearing that they were going to be using this to handle 
32bit/64bit binaries now that the G5 is out.
