[X4U] Two-Finger Scrolling on older Macs.

Hi-
See this link about the new two-finger scrolling:

http://www-users.kawo2.rwth-aachen.de/~razzfazz/

The hack's obviously not for the faint hearted, since you have to make
a change to /System/Library/Extensions.

And you should make a backup copy of Apple's mouse driver.

I followed the instructions, and it worked as described. Now my 12 inch
PB from last June has two-finger scrolling.

This is superfluous when your mouse is plugged in, but when you're
using the track pad this is a bigger convenience that might be
immediately obvious. It means you don't have to move over to the
elevator bar, or use two keys to page down, when you're reading a long
list. Which makes the whole experience just work better!

But do a back-up first; messing around with System files can really
screw up the system.

Also, can anyone guess if this will survive 10.3.9 or will it have to
be repeated? (Do the upgrades usually replace the whole Extensions
library or just items that change?)

Finally, I apologize for omitting the subject on my earlier post. The
old
listserv wouldn't have let me get away with that, and I just became
sloppy.

Jon
