[X4U] Very Odd Blank emails

I get some odd blank emails also (though not nearly as regularly nor
nearly as many at once) - I've always assumed they're either spambots
trolling to see what email addresses are valid, or have virii
embedded (that fortunately don't affect those of us on Macs).

Not sure about what you're seeing though. What happens if you disable
the script? Do you still get as many? How are your settings in terms
of deleting from the server? (assuming you're using POP rather than
IMAP).
