[X4U] Digital and Analog audio output from mini simultaneously

Hi,
   I have an Intel Core Duo Mac mini in my home theater system.  I  
connect it to my receiver via toslink.  This works well, but the  
multi room system on my receiver only passes analog audio, so I would  
like to get analog out from the mini at the same time.  I have an  
Onkyo USB audio converter that works very well, so the physical  
connections are not a problem.  I just want to enable the optical  
audio out _and_ the USB audio out at the same time.  Is there any way  
to do this?

One possible workaround would be to use an airport express.  This  
would work out of the box for iTunes, and with Airfoil for other  
sources.  I would prefer not to buy another Airport Express.
