Likely not, since the bit rate determines how dense/detailed the music 
track is, and there is a correlation between that and the file size 
(higher bit rate = larger file size). You might have a chance if Apple 
develops another encoding method, since the encoding difference between 
Apple's AAC and their prior MP3 method (whatever it was termed) allowed 
AAC at lower sampling rates to match the perceived quality of the prior 
MP3 files. But I haven't heard even rumors of anything new in encoding of 
MP3/music files (yet).

I'll ask the obvious question - you've checked under Visuals on the 
menubar to be sure you have "full-screen" checked, right? The preferences 
might have been messed up or something.
