At 11:19 AM 1/13/2004, mko at nt.net, had this to say : >heyo. I wasn't really paying attention, since I don't >have a Palm, but if you have modem probs, make sure >that Palm HotSync is turned off, as it will grab the modem >port like a terrier with a bone, or like a New Yorkie with >your terrier. > > ):o[l] > >p.s. Somebody invite me to SoCal; I'm > friggin' freeeeeeeeezing up here. Yup that is what happened when I had the PowerPort software loaded. I was able to disable the HotSync monitoring though. The main issue still remains. Under 9.1 on the 2300c, HotSync does not see the combo serial port (printer/modem). I received my MT G3 today in the mail and hooked it up and booted it. The MT G3 ran fine, so I then docked my 2300c and booted up again. Unfortunately, the G3 insisted on booting from the 2300c HD (no big deal just not what I wanted), so I hooked up my new Palm serial dongle that I also received in the mail today and changed the HotSync settings since it was able to see the G3 modem port. Sync worked fine there. Going out now so I will have to try a 2300c sync later. Thanks to all for the tips. My only thought is there is an extension that is different in 9.1 such that the combo serial port is not seen, but this can not be true since AppleTalk sees the combo port fine, but maybe it is true since Z-Term does not see the combo serial port? :S You all are welcome to here in Victoria. The foot of snow is gone now and only rain remains. :D Sincerely, R.
