[Ti] Strange problem

A brand new PB G4 here, hope it's ok to ask on this list.

This machine is one week old and was set up and running perfectly when 
released to the user.

While the user was plugged in, and faxing from the phone line, both the 
electricity and the phone went 'out'.
The computer stayed on via battery but the faxing was interrupted.

Repeated restarts only produced the spinning ball so naturally I went 
right after the spooled fax. Once that was removed, I thought it would 
be fixed but wasn't.

We then booted with Disc #1 and Repaired both the HD (said it made a 
repair) and the Permissions.

Reboot, all is well.

Then she tries to fax again...and gets the beach ball.

I do remember some problem with faxing AppleWorks docs on OS 9, could 
this be it? She claims she did scores of them previous to that with no 
trouble.

The computer is coming back to me this weekend, any suggestions for 
where else to look for problems?

It has been suggested I run the installer again and 'update', and that 
will fix any bits that are munged. I just don't want to lose the 
massive set up job I already did.
We have AppleCare.
