Plenty of room on the destination drive...so that's not it. Your other idea is plausible, except for the fact that Magic iMovie can detect the clips just fine. I may try it with the clip detection turned off, but the problem only seems to show itself when I try a "manual" import. Thanks for the ideas, though!
