I import to mp3 for compatibility reasons.  My setting is VBR 256k for 
everything.  It results in large files, but I can listen to them on my 
mp3 compatible cd players and home stereo with acceptable sound 
quality.  I have yet to find a lossy format that doesn't leave me 
wincing from time to time.
