Of course bit rates can change in MPEG2, that was not the debate.
However, I do believe that 9Mb/sec is the max that most consumer DVD
players can handle, would you agree? 9Mb/sec is roughly 1MB/sec
No. The MPEG-2 standard supports something more like 20 MBit/sec and
the players probably support that. At least, the chips will.
I have some consumer DVDs that show 10-11 Mbit/sec in places.
