[X4U] Formatting an oversize HD on my G4

I am installing a 250 Gbyte hard drive on my  Power Mac G4 (AGP 
graphics). I understand it will not format a drive over 170 Gigs. Can 
anyone tell me if I can get around this by dividing the drive into 
two partitions?
