Keynote problems on iBook?

I am gradually converting my presentations to Keynote for presentation 
from by 600MHz iceBook, but have yet to give a presentation. I have 
read about a number of problems on the Discussions at Apple Support, 
and wonder about whether others have A) experienced these problems, or 
B) have some workarounds.

The problems I have read about are:

1) Freeze or quit during presentation, on machine with OS X 10.2.3 and 
ATI graphics

2) Slow or jerky graphics on external display
