I¹ve both created several presentations and imported a few from PowerPoint.
Yes, there is no question that the transitions are jerky, slow, and ugly
with the iBook. Using the simplest transitions - fades - work okay.

I¹ve also seen the deep freeze too. It seems to occur with large
presentations with lots of graphics and fancy transitions. Apple has
confirmed that there is a bug with the ATI drivers and that is causing the
crashes.
